★65% reduction in CO2 emissions★ Improvement of packaging for battery parts and components
Awarded in the large and heavy goods packaging division! Contributed to CO2 reduction (▲65%) and total logistics costs (▲40%) through packaging improvements for Kyocera's battery parts.
In the 2021 Japan Packaging Contest, we won the "Large and Heavy Goods Packaging Division" award! With the mass production of battery parts at Kyocera, there was a need for packaging that is easier to pack and store. We also achieved a reduction in CO2 emissions, contributing to the realization of a sustainable society! 【Before Improvement】 - Used multiple auxiliary materials for packaging. → Increased material storage costs. - Not a standardized packaging form. → Increased packaging time due to reliance on workers. - Not compatible with the manufacturing line. → Increased personnel due to the need for setup work. 【Improvement Goals】 1. Standardization of parts 2. Efficiency in work processes 3. Adaptation to mass production 【After Improvement】 1. Reduced the number of packaging material types from 7 to 1 2. Consolidated packaging patterns into 3 types 3. Improved workability with dimensions compatible with the manufacturing line 【Improvement Effects】 Workforce …60% reduction Standardization …80% reduction Packaging form …100% achieved Packaging weight/PL …50% reduction Annual CO2 emissions …65% reduction Total logistics costs …40% reduction *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.
